How to clip dogs' nails
Special thanks to Marty, Minnie, and Jojo.  My dogs, they were very good!! There wasn't any bleeding! I'm very surprised! This was my first time ever clipping any dogs nails! But I wouldn't have been able to do it without the GREAT cooperation of my special dog pack!:)

What you will need:
-A towel (for the dogs that will go on the table)
-Tissues (in case nails start to bleed)
-Styptic powder (also in case nails start to bleed)
-Dog nail clippers
-And a lot of patience!!:D
- And trust with your dog (If your dog doesn't trust you much, or they haven't known you for a long time, you might want a muzzle!)
-If you have a small dog you might want a table
- Treats (to praise dog after each paw is done, IF they were good!)
Step 1- Lay out the towel on the floor or a table.
Step 2- get you dog to get on the towel, or if on the table place dog onto it.

Step 3- lean over dog as in the picture below, clip the nail at the same angle that the nail is slanted. Don't forget the dew claw on the front feet! After you finish one paw you can give him/her a treat to tell them that they are doing very good. While clipping toe nail keep a calm voice. NOT a high voice with a lot of excitement in it! This will tell them that you are NOT boss and that they don't have to obey. It will also make it harder for you because it will make them nervous and the will yank away their paw. This may cause them to bleed! If they want to walk away to get a breather for a second let them! But don't forget that they need to come back! Here is a picture of me doing this on the front foot. You hold the back foot differently.

Front foot...

When you do the back foot you want to get them to stand up.

Here is a picture of me clipping the back toes.
If toes do start to bleed hold pressure on them with the tissues. Then add styptic powder to the tip of the nails. If still bleeds after 5-7 min take to the vet!
Thank you!
