Psychology

Psychology is the study of human behavior and the study of how the brain functions.

Now I understand why people call brains living machines. They are a whole lot like machines. Only one thing: they are much more complicated! Brains really are not simple and you can't just pop a brain out to study how it works either.

Why are brains a whole lot like machines and why can't you just study them by opening them and looking at them?

Well you can open the brain to study it but you wouldn't call that psychology. You would call it biology or anatomy.
But if you are studying how the brain works and how it makes your body behave then you would call it psychology. You can't open the brain to study it because you can't see how people behave or what they are feeling by looking at a brain. Simple enough.

Brains are like machines because they function by having different parts of the brain work. Also, if you open up a computer and expect to see some pictures in the wires, you won't. But on the other hand if you turn on that computer you will see the picture you were expecting. The brain is like this too.

So, how do psychologists study the brains' behaviors and the way they make us feel?

They study body behaviors. Like if we were mad we would look down, throw something, or even just glare at the person we are made at. That is our brain working. That is how they study the way our brain functions. By looking at how our body reacts or how it functions.

Here is my drawing of a brain as a machine.
