Dreams

Dreams:
Did you know if you live to the age of 75 you would have slept for 25 of those years? (Unless of course you watch a whole lot of T.V. Then you would have slept much more! :D)

There are two different phases of sleep one of them is called REM. This stands for Rapid Eye Movement. REM takes up 1/5 of our sleeping time per night. The reason it is called REM is because your eyes move rapidly back and forth. (No wonder it is called Rapid Eye Movement!) This phase of sleeping is when you are dreaming. Yes, we do dream every night but most of the time we just don't remember it. The REM stage starts out only lasting about 15 minutes. The longer we sleep the longer this phase will last. Every night it usually lasts up to 45 minutes or less. The other stage is Non-REM. (Guess what this is.) This is when your body is totally relaxed. You don't even shift your body into a different position when you are in this stage. The reason you are relaxed and your body is not moving is because your body is repairing from the long and hard day that you have just finished.

Dreams are a way to sort through all of the information we took in that day. If the information you take in isn't important to the body at the moment it will get rid of it. (This may be the reason we usually don't remember dreams.) If you had a day that bad things happened or a day when you are worried about something that may or may not happen your dreams may turn into a nightmare.

Since you are sorting through basically everything that has happened in life it makes sense that you will only see people that you have already have seen in life.
Here is my drawing: It is a nightmare. A girl when she is sleeping falls from Earth into space!

Hey everyone, in a few days there is going to be a blog post about one of my dogs, check it out!
